Veggie Pan Pizza
Hello,
Check out this recipe for an absolutely delicious pizza crust. This is close to the Pizza Hut ‘Pan’ crust Pizza. Soft in the center with a crispy base, loaded with veggies and cheese. We have used fire-roasted pepper and this topping truly was a game-changer. Of course, this is optional.
Pizza Hut sure has a special memory in my mind. This was the first place I have ever tasted a pizza. Now, when I see Pizza Hut, I see a fast food joint with mostly takeaway. What I remember from my early childhood about Pizza Hut is a family diner, with excellence in service and hospitality. We used to love their salad bar with their delicious coleslaw and Russian salad. Â Somehow, making this recipe at home with my husband made me relive this fond memory. It was incredibly easy to make at home as well.
Let us get right to it!

- Take dry milk, sugar, and instant yeast in a mixing bowl. Add the water (110°F- 125°F) and mix well.
- Slowly add in the flour and salt.
- Bring the dough together and begin kneading.
- Add 3 tbsp. oil and continue kneading. It will be sticky when you begin to knead, the soft dough will begin to form as you continue to knead
- Transfer the dough to a flat surface and knead for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, you will have a non-sticky and soft dough
- Now it is time to rest the dough to proof. Split the dough into 2. Flatten and tuck into a ball.In a greased bowl, place the rolls
- Set aside to rest in a warm place for 1.5 to 2 hours. I like to place it inside the oven with the lights on.
- The dough should have doubled after resting time. It took me 1.5 hours.
- Now you can get all the toppings ready. One optional topping is fire-roasted red pepper. Place a red bell pepper over medium flame, and roast.
- Once all sides are well roasted, turn off the flame. Wash off the charred coating.
- Slice as you desire and it is ready to use!
- Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.
- Grease a baking tray with olive oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs
- Transfer the raised dough to a dry flat surface. Stretch with your hand.
- Roll out the dough using a rolling pin. This will help smoothen the cracks. Shape to fit the baking tray.
- Place the rolled out dough onto the greased baking tray. No need to shape the corner crusts, just stretch to fit the tray.
- Spread sauce
- Sprinkle some grated Mozzarella cheese
- Top with veggies, olives, and roasted red pepper
- Sprinkle cracked pepper, dry Italian herbs, and dry chili flakes.
- Time for cheesy goodness! Go ahead and sprinkle generously with grated Mozzarella cheese. Ready for baking.
- Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Till the cheese is all melted and corners turn golden brown
- Optional Step: After the baking time has completed, you can broil the pizza for 1-2 minutes, to get beautiful brown spots on the cheese.
- The pizza is ready! Remove from the oven. Gently transfer the pizza from the pan to a lined chopping board. Cut as you please.
- Gently transfer the pizza from the pan to a lined chopping board. Optional- Brush melted butter on the crust. I have used Melted Garlic Butter.
